About Einsteinz Music

For more than 20 years, Einsteinz Music has brought babies, toddlers and preschoolers together with professional musicians to share the simple joy of making music.

What began as an in-store activity has grown into one of Sydney’s best-loved children’s music programs, running weekly classes across eight locations. Every class is taught live, on real instruments, by working musicians who love what they do.

Our philosophy

At Einsteinz Music your child develops a love of music from an early age through engaging, hands-on classes designed for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Led by professional musicians, our weekly sessions teach the fundamentals of beat, pitch, rhythm and tempo in a way that feels like play.

Children get their hands on real instruments — maracas, tambourines, rhythm sticks — and every class ends with an exciting jam session on the drums. Scarves, bubbles and animal props bring sensory richness to the room and keep little ones captivated.

The focus is on doing. Everything is played live, with no pre-recorded music, which keeps lessons high-energy and dynamic. In this fun, age-appropriate environment your child builds not only a love of music, but confidence and creativity too.

Our vision

We want music to be something parents and carers experience alongside their children. Our classes are designed to:

• Encourage children’s interest in music and their grasp of simple musical concepts
• Lay the foundation for future learning, enjoyment and playing of instruments
• Grow each child’s self-confidence and sense of belonging in a group

Where we started

Einsteinz Music began in 1999 as “Funky Time”, an in-store activity at the Einsteinz Toy Box toy store in Leichhardt. The lessons grew in popularity, and a few years later — when the toy store closed — they became a stand-alone business under the name Einsteinz Music.

From those humble beginnings in the back of a toy store, we now run weekly classes for children across Sydney — in Bondi, Coogee, Randwick, Leichhardt, Lilyfield, Rozelle, Neutral Bay and Allawah.

We are always keen to bring music to new neighbourhoods, including Alexandria, Camperdown, Concord, Crows Nest, Haberfield, Hunters Hill, Marrickville, Newtown and the Sutherland Shire — wherever there is enough interest.

A family passion

Einsteinz Music is owned by Jeannette Keir, for whom it is far more than a business. Her connection began when her son attended classes during his preschool years, and earlier still when she shared early childhood music classes with her daughter — the singing, the movement, the laughter.

Watching her children light up through music remains among her most treasured memories. Carrying on the Einsteinz Music journey is her way of giving other families the same chance to connect, laugh and grow together through the gift of music.
